  32. The server may abend when unloading NLMs, such as BOOTPD.NLM (and others). 
  33. Abend types such as GPPE and Invalid Opcode have been seen.

  35. SYMPTOM
  36.  
  37. During the installation of BASIC MHS on a NetWare 3.x server, the following
  38. error message is displayed:
  39.  
  40. Error: initializing MHS Data Files
  41. Error: creating MHS Data Files
  42. Full Installation:  Failed

  45.  
  46. When globally changing to a dataset in or logging in to a SoftSolution's
  47. Server Enhancement Module (SEM) and using CLIB.NLM 3.12, revision G, the
  48. following error message is displayed:
  49.  
  50. Error 572:  Could not send data to server [237, 0, 0]
  51.  
  52. SYMPTOM
  53.  
  54. The SSSERVER.LOG file will contain entries similar to the following:
  55.  
  56. Monday July 25, 1994  02:18:49 PM -- SoftSolution's SEM is up
  57. Monday July 25, 1994  02:18:49 PM -- Lock failure
  58. Monday July 25, 1994  02:18:49 PM -- 593:  Record not found
  59. Monday July 25, 1994  02:18:49 PM -- NetWare error number 255

  61. SYMPTOM
  62.  
  63. When restarting, shutting down, or unloading the GroupWise Message Server and
  64. using CLIB.NLM v3.12, revision G, considerable delays may be experienced.
  65.  
  66. Every few seconds, the Message Server issues alert messages similar to the
  67. following:
  68.  
  69. Waiting for task <taskname> to complete
  70.  
  71. This type of message usually occurs when the Message Server has lost its
  72. connection to a remote file server.
  73.  
  74. When the connection has been lost, the Message Server must wait for all I/O
  75. operations to time out.  When several I/O operations have been open on this
  76. server, this timeout period increases. The number displayed in the <taskname>
  77. field indicates an approximate number of I/O operations that must time out.
  78.  
  79. SOLUTION
  80.  
  81. Install CLIB.NLM v3.12, revision H, contained in the libup4.exe file.

  119. Installation Instructions:

  121. This Server Library Update comes with an installation utility that will
  122. install the appropriate version of the NetWare 3.x and 4.x NLMs into the
  123. SYS:SYSTEM directory of one or more servers.
  124.  
  125. To run the installation utility, type INSTALL.
  126.  
  127. For additional information on the installation utility, see the INSTALL.DOC
  128. file.

  132. The previous version of this library package LIBUP1.EXE contained the
  133. following fixes:
  134.  
  135. AFTER311.NLM 3.0, revision H for NetWare 3.11 and 3.12 was enhanced in its
  136. support for internationalization and NetWare alerts.
  137.  
  138. CLIB.NLM 3.12, revision D for NetWare 3.11, NetWare SFT III, and NetWare 3.12
  139. was improved in several areas.
  140.  
  141. ■  Errors in Queue Management Services in handling job or form types and
  142. memory corruption while servicing a queue were corrected.
  143.  
  144. ■  Problems in handling connections and deleting files on remote servers were
  145. corrected.
  146.  
  147. ■  Service Advertising Protocol interfaces were fixed for the NetWare SFT III
  148. I/O engine and included additional error checking.
  149.  
  150. ■  The IPX address error handing was improved.
  151.  
  152. ■  Several server statistic functions were corrected.
  153.  
  154. ■  Improvements were made for internationalization, as well as memory
  155. allocation and debugging.
  156.  
  157. ■  A deadlock condition that may occur between NetWare SFT III servers and a
  158. bug that may occur while shutting down a NetWare SFT III server were
  159. corrected.

  161. ■  Problems with name space support were fixed.
  162.  
  163. CLIB.NLM 4.01, revision B for NetWare 4.01 was also improved in the following
  164. areas:

  166. ■  Improvements were made in console input functions, resource handling, and
  167. name space support.
  168.  
  169. ■  Several server statistic functions were corrected.
  170.  
  171. ■  Interface with DSAPI.NLM was enhanced by improving support for multiple
  172. NetWare Directory Services users.
  173.  
  174. The previous version of this library package LIBUP3.EXE contained:
  175.  
  176. CLIB.NLM 3.12, revision H for NetWare 3.11, NetWare SFT III, and NetWare 3.12
  177. was improved in several areas.  Server statistics were added as well as
  178. support for file server hooks.  A variety of fixes are included.
  179.  
  180. NLMs that get time and date information from the CLIB.NLM file will get
  181. incorrect time and date.  This is particularly acute for database servers such
  182. as Gupta and Oracle.  The behavior is as follows:
  183.  
  184. 1.  As the time changes from 23-OCT-1993 23:59:59 to 24-OCT-1993 00:00:00, the
  185. date and time obtained from CLIB.NLM will be pushed forward one hour.
  186.  
  187. 2.  As the time changes from 30-OCT-1993 23:59:59 to 31-OCT-1993 00:00:00, the
  188. date and time obtained from CLIB.NLM will be pushed backward one hour.
  189.  
  190. CLIB.NLM 4.01, revision D for NetWare 4.01, was also improved to correct the
  191. following abend message.

  193. When NLMs such as PSERVER are unloaded, the server will abend with the
  194. following message:
  195.  
  196. MESSAGE

  198.   Abend: SERVER-4.00-362: CloseScreen called with a screen that
  199.       is still being used.

  203. NetWare 3.x
  204.  
  205. AFTER311.NLM 4.00a for NetWare 3.11 and 3.12 was split into the AFTER311.NLM
  206. and A3112.NLM files.  The Locale functions remain in the AFTER311.NLM file.
  207.  
  208. A3112.NLM 4.00 for NetWare 3.11 and 3.12 contains the NWSNUT functions
  209. previously included in AFTER311.NLM.
  210.  
  211. CLIB.NLM 3.12 revision H for NetWare 3.11, NetWare SFT III, and NetWare 3.12,
  212. address issues with BASIC MHS and SoftSolutions.
  213.  
  214. MATHLIB.NLM 3.12 for NetWare 3.11 and 3.12 is included as a library package. 
  215. No changes have been made since NetWare 3.12.

  222. CLIB.NLM 4.01, revision D for NetWare 4.01 includes fixes in a variety of
  223. areas.

  225. DSAPI.NLM 4.01, revision C for NetWare 4.01 was enhanced with various NetWare
  226. Directory Services functions.  A number of fixes are included in this
  227. revision.

  229. MATHLIB.NLM 4.00 for NetWare 4.01 is included as a library package.  No
  230. changes have been made since NetWare 4.01.

  232. MATHLIBC.NLM 4.00 for NetWare 4.01 is included as a library package.  No
  233. changes have been made since NetWare 4.01.
